ܦܘܠܘܣ ܫܠܝܚܐ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܒܨܒܝܢܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܘܒܡܘܠܟܢܐ ܕܚܝܐ ܕܒܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, according to the promise of the life which is in Christ Jesus,

ܠܛܝܡܬܐܘܣ ܒܪܐ ܚܒܝܒܐ ܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܘܪܚܡܐ ܘܫܠܡܐ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܐܒܐ ܘܡܢ ܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ

to Timothy, my beloved child: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

ܡܘܕܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ ܕܠܗ ܡܫܡܫ ܐܢܐ ܡܢ ܐܒܗܬܝ ܒܬܐܪܬܐ ܕܟܝܬܐ ܕܐܡܝܢܐܝܬ ܡܬܕܟܪ ܐܢܐ ܠܟ ܒܨܠܘܬܝ ܕܠܠܝܐ ܘܕܐܝܡܡܐ

I thank God, whom I serve as my forefathers did, with a pure conscience. How unceasing is my memory of you in my petitions, night and day

ܘܣܘܐ ܐܢܐ ܠܡܚܙܝܟ ܘܡܬܕܟܪ ܐܢܐ ܕܡܥܝܟ ܕܐܬܡܠܐ ܚܕܘܬܐ

longing to see you, remembering your tears, that I may be filled with joy;

ܒܥܘܗܕܢܐ ܕܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܟ ܫܪܝܪܬܐ ܗܝ ܕܫܪܬ ܠܘܩܕܡ ܒܐܡܐ ܕܐܡܟ ܠܘܐܝܣ ܘܒܐܡܟ ܐܘܢܝܩܐ ܡܦܣ ܐܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܐܦ ܒܟ

having been reminded of the sincere faith that is in you; which lived first in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice, and, I am persuaded, in you also.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܡܥܗܕ ܐܢܐ ܠܟ ܕܬܥܝܪ ܡܘܗܒܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܗܝ ܕܐܝܬ ܒܟ ܒܣܝܡ ܐܝܕܝ
'ydy bsym bk d'yth hy d'lh' mwhbth' dtheyr lk 'n' mehd hn' mTl
For this cause, I remind you that you should stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

ܠܐ ܓܝܪ ܝܗܒ ܠܢ ܐܠܗܐ ܪܘܚܐ ܕܕܚܠܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܕܚܝܠܐ ܘܕܚܘܒܐ ܘܕܡܪܬܝܢܘܬܐ
wdmrthynwth' wdkhwb' dkhyl' 'l' ddkhlth' rwkh' 'lh' ln yhb gyr l'
For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

ܠܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܬܒܗܬ ܒܣܗܕܘܬܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܐܦܠܐ ܒܝ ܒܐܣܝܪܗ ܐܠܐ ܫܩܘܠ ܒܝܫܬܐ ܥܡ ܐܘܢܓܠܝܘܢ ܒܚܝܠܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ

Therefore don’t be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner; but endure hardship for the Good News according to the power of God,

ܗܘ ܕܐܚܝܢ ܘܩܪܢ ܒܩܪܝܢܐ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܠܘ ܐܝܟ ܥܒܕܝܢ ܐܠܐ ܐܝܟ ܨܒܝܢܗ ܘܛܝܒܘܬܗ ܗܝ ܕܐܬܝܗܒܬ ܠܢ ܒܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܡ ܙܒܢܐ ܕܥܠܡܐ
delm' zbn' qdm mn mshykh' byshwe ln d'thyhbth hy wTybwthh tsbynh 'yk 'l' ebdyn 'yk lw qdysh' bqryn' wqrn d'khyn hw
who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before times eternal,

ܘܐܬܓܠܝܬ ܗܫܐ ܒܓܠܝܢܗ ܕܡܚܝܢܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܕܒܛܠ ܠܡܘܬܐ ܘܚܘܝ ܚܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܡܬܚܒܠܢܘܬܐ ܒܐܘܢܓܠܝܘܢ
b'wnglywn mthkhblnwth' wl' khy' wkhwy lmwth' dbTl mshykh' yshwe dmkhynn bglynh hsh' w'thglyth
but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the Good News.

ܗܘ ܕܐܬܬܣܝܡܬ ܒܗ ܐܢܐ ܟܪܘܙܐ ܘܫܠܝܚܐ ܘܡܠܦܢܐ ܕܥܡܡܐ

For this, I was appointed as a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

ܡܛܠ ܗܕܐ ܡܣܝܒܪ ܐܢܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܘܠܐ ܒܗܬ ܐܢܐ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܒܡܢ ܗܝܡܢܬ ܘܡܦܣ ܐܢܐ ܕܡܛܝܐ ܒܐܝܕܘܗܝ ܓܘܥܠܢܝ ܠܡܛܪ ܠܝ ܠܝܘܡܐ ܗܘ
hw lywm' ly lmTr gwelny b'ydwhy dmTy' 'n' wmps hymnth bmn gyr 'n' yde 'n' bhth wl' hlyn 'n' msybr hd' mTl
For this cause I also suffer these things.
Yet I am not ashamed, for I know him whom I have believed, and I am persuaded that he is able to guard that which I have committed to him against that day.

ܢܗܘܝܢ ܠܟ ܚܘܪܐ ܡܠܐ ܚܠܝܡܬܐ ܕܫܡܥܬ ܡܢܝ ܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܘܒܚܘܒܐ ܕܒܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ

Hold the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

ܓܘܥܠܢܐ ܛܒܐ ܛܪ ܒܪܘܚܐ ܕܩܘܕܫܐ ܗܝ ܕܥܡܪܬ ܒܢ
bn demrth hy dqwdsh' brwkh' Tr Tb' gweln'
That good thing which was committed to you, guard through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.

ܝܕܥ ܐܢܬ ܗܕܐ ܕܗܦܟܘ ܡܢܝ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܗܠܝܢ ܕܒܐܣܝܐ ܕܐܝܬܝܗܘܢ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܦܘܓܠܘܣ ܘܗܪܡܓܢܘܣ

This you know, that all who are in Asia turned away from me; of whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes.

ܢܬܠ ܡܪܢ ܪܚܡܐ ܠܒܝܬܗ ܕܐܢܣܝܦܘܪܘܣ ܕܙܒܢܝܢ ܣܓܝܐܢ ܐܢܝܚܢܝ ܘܒܫܫܠܬܐ ܕܐܣܘܪܝ ܠܐ ܒܗܬ

May the Lord grant mercy to the house of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain,
